The Long Beach City College men's soccer team secured a dominant 3-0 shutout victory over the College of the Desert Roadrunners in their home opener on Tuesday afternoon.
"It was great to kick off our home opener with a shutout win and improve our record to 2-0," said Assistant Coach Cameron Beaulac. "We saw some of the positive aspects we've been working on, but also identified areas where we can still improve."
Jose Mariscal led the charge with two first-half goals, giving the Vikings a 2-0 advantage. In the second half, Ulises Grado added a third goal in the 65th minute to cement the Vikings' win. David Huerta contributed with assists on two of the goals, while Abraham Ramirez made two key saves to preserve the shutout.
The Vikings will be back in action on Friday, September 6, at Cypress College at 4 p.m.
