The No.3-ranked Long Beach City College men's soccer team delivered a commanding 5-0 victory over LA Harbor College, improving their overall record to 12-2-1 and 3-1-1 in South Coast Conference play.
"It was great to see the team capitalize on their opportunities," said assistant coach Cameron Beaulac. "Scoring five goals is a strong statement in our conference."
William Blanco opened the scoring for the Vikings, followed by a goal from Jose Mariscal, assisted by Hector Tellez and Carlos Reyes. In the second half, Ulises Grado found the back of the net with an assist from Edwin Rodriguez, who finished the match with two assists. Marc Valencia and Jeferson Umana added late goals to secure the 5-0 shutout.
"Without the team, we wouldn't be where we are today," said Rodriguez after the game.
The Vikings will return to action on Friday, October 25, when they take on Los Angeles City College at 4:00 p.m.
