The state-ranked No. 6 Long Beach City College men's soccer team secured a 2-0 victory over Compton College on Tuesday afternoon. The win brings the Vikings' record to 13-3-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the South Coast Conference.
Goalkeeper Abraham Ramirez delivered a flawless performance, making four critical saves over 90 minutes to keep the shutout intact.
Forward Hector Tellez opened the scoring for the Vikings in the first half, assisted by defender Joel Mata. In stoppage time, forward Jose Mariscal added the second goal to solidify the 2-0 result.
The Vikings will return to action on Friday, November 1, when they take on Pasadena College at 6:30 p.m.
