The Long Beach City College men's soccer team secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Pasadena City College in the opening round of the South Coast Conference Tournament.
Defender Diego Penaloza opened the scoring for the Vikings, connecting with an assist from midfielder Ulises Grado. In the 35th minute, forward David Huerta extended the lead to 2-0 before halftime, with support from midfielder Marcos Zambrano and forward Luke Garza.
In the second half, forward Asael Sales scored the final goal, solidifying the 3-0 result. Goalkeeper Abraham Ramirez kept a clean sheet, making one save in 90 minutes of play.
The Vikings advance to Round 2 and are scheduled to face Cerritos College on Tuesday, November 12, at 3 p.m.
