Long Beach Hosts Dual Meet Against El Camino and East Los Angeles College
The Long Beach City College Vikings hosted a dual meet against El Camino and East Los Angeles College on Friday afternoon.
The Long Beach City College Vikings hosted a dual meet against El Camino and East Los Angeles College on Friday afternoon. The men's team fell to the Warriors 103-147, and the women's team downed the Warriors 164-82 and East Los Angeles 164-123.
For the men's team, sophomore Michael Baker took home three first-place finishes in the 100-yard backstroke, 50-yard freestyle, and in the 200-yard backstroke. Freshman Sullivan Moore also took home three first place finishes in the 100-yard free, 100-yard fly, 200-yard individual medley.
On the women's side, freshman Rachel Westphal finished on top in the 200-yard free with a 2:08.94, the 50-yard free with a 26.40, and in the 100-yard free with a 58.88.
Freshman Maggie Damon took home the gold in the 100-yard individual medley with a 2:34.17 and in the 200-yard breaststroke with a 2:48. 59. She also placed second in the 100-yard breast with a 1:17.07.
The Vikings will return to the pool on Friday, Mar. 20 against Pasadena and Rio Hondo at Rio Hondo College at 12:30 p.m.
