Men’s Volleyball: Long Beach moves to 3-0 with sweep of San Diego City
Freshman Alejandro Albarran posted a match-high 13 kills while sophomore Alfonso Mata added 11 kills to help lead the Long Beach City College men’s volleyball team to 25-18, 25-22, 25-14 sweep of visiting San Diego City College on Wednesday in the Vikings’ home opener.
Freshman Alejandro Albarran (Cathedral HS) posted a match-high 13 kills while sophomore Alfonso Mata (Warren HS) added 11 kills to help lead the Long Beach City College men's volleyball team to 25-18, 25-22, 25-14 sweep of visiting San Diego City College on Wednesday in the Vikings' home opener.
Long Beach is 3-0 and next travels to San Diego Miramar College for a 2:30 p.m. non-conference match on Friday (Feb. 13).
The Vikings committed just 11 errors on 71 attempts over the match and outhit San Diego City (0-3) .296 - .038. Freshman David Escobedo (Cathedral HS) totaled 31 assists for LBCC while sophomore Adam Wadley (Wilson HS) led with six digs.
