Men’s Volleyball: Vikings extend winning streak to 15, beat Pierce 3-1

Long Beach City College surged to its 15th straight win thanks to its 25-17, 25-23, 23-25, 25-20 victory over visiting Pierce College on Friday. The Vikings haven't lost since opening the season with consecutive defeats on Jan. 29 and 30. LBCC leads the Western State Conference at 8-0 and its 15-2 overall.

Sophomore Joshua Nehls (Warren HS) led all with a season-high 20 kills as he hit an impressive .500 on the night. Freshman Andrew Pearson (Huntington Beach HS) added 10 kills and nine digs while freshman Gary Trejo (Warren HS) posted a match-high 42 assists. Freshman Elai Mama (Mayfair HS) also chipped in with nine kills and five blocks.

Long Beach looks to extend its winning streak on Wednesday (Apr. 6) when the Vikings travel to El Camino College for a 6 p.m. WSC match.
