No.1 Men's Volleyball Wins Eleventh-Straight Game Over LA Pierce

The top-ranked Long Beach City College men's volleyball team swept the No. 8 LA Pierce College Brahma Bulls 3-0 on Wednesday evening to extend their winning streak to eleven games in a row.

As a team for the season thus far, the Vikings average 12.26 kills per set, block 2.99 per set, while assisting 11.09 per set. The Vikings had no issues in taking down the Brahma Bulls with set scores of 25-21, 25-20, 25-17.

Sophomore outside hitter Andrew Pearson led the team with a .667 percentage with six kills executed out of nine attacks. Pearson also acquired three digs and a block assist.

Sophomore opposite Steven Rotter was on fire defensively by totaling five blocks assists. He led the Vikings on offense by totaling 15 overall points with 13 kills. So far this season, Rotter averaged 3.32 kills per set and has already completed over 100 kills.

Freshman setter Melbe Perez was the catalyst behind the ball against LA Pierce with 28 assists and career-high record of 13 digs.  

The No.1 men's volleyball team will compete again at Long Beach City College this Friday, Mar. 2 against Santa Barbara City College  at 6 p.m. in the Building Q Gym.
