No. 1 Men’s Volleyball Ball Sweeps Miramar College 3-0 in Season Opener

The defending State Champions took down Miramar College in a 3-0 sweep on Wednesday evening in the Building Q Gym. The Vikings won their sets 25-19, 25-15, and 25-17.

Sophomore standout opposite Uriel Batista dominated as he led the team with 14 points. Batista also tallied one service ace and had a .524 kill percentage against the Jets.

Sophomore setter Joseph Rocha also returned to the court with precedence as he checked 29 assists and had four kills to help the Vikings sweep the Jets with ease.

Newcomer freshman Arsene Ponsin stood out with seven kills for the Vikings and a .429 kill percentage.

The No. 1 men's volleyball team will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 1 at Orange Coast College against Irvine Valley at 10 a.m.
