The Long Beach City College men's volleyball team swept Santa Barbara City College 3-0 on Wednesday evening for their first Western State Conference win. The Vikings took down the Vaqueros 25-23, 25-14, 25-18.

Freshman outside hitter Julian Zavala was the standout on offense for the Vikings as her totaled 13.5 points. He led the team with 12 kills and currently has a .320 kill percentage for the season.

Sophomore setter Joseph Rocha has returned to the Vikings this season and has already been making an impact on the court. He had 20 assists against the Vaqueros and he averages about nine assists per game.

The Vikings will be back in action with another home game on Friday, March 4 at 6 p.m. in the Building Q Gym against Antelope Valley College.
