Angel Nikolov Named Head Coach of Men's Volleyball

Long Beach City College Athletics proudly introduces Angel Nikolov as the new Head Coach for Men's Volleyball. With extensive coaching and playing experience, Nikolov joins the Vikings bringing a wealth of expertise.

"As the Athletic Director at Long Beach City College, I am thrilled to welcome our new men's volleyball head coach, Angel Nikolov," said Athletic Director Kal Stewart. "With an impressive coaching resume that includes leading the USA National Volleyball Team in 2022 and the Pan American Cup in Mexico in 2023, Coach Nikolov brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success as both a coach and professional athlete."

Graduating in 2013 with a degree in international economics from the University Goce Delcev Macedonia, Nikolov excelled on the volleyball court. He showcased his talent as a setter, gracing international stages from 2008 to 2021 across several countries including France, Lebanon, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Iraq, Tunisia, and Albania. His remarkable career boasts a three-time MVP title, seven championship victories, and two second-place finishes.

In 2018, Nikolov transitioned to coaching, assuming the role of Head Coach for Sports Performance in Illinois. He later took on the role of Director and Head Coach for United Volleyball in Fountain Valley. In 2022-23, he contributed as the Assistant Coach for the USA National Volleyball Team and during the Pan American Cup held in Mexico.
