Former Viking Matt Silva begins his first season as co-head coach of the highly successful LBCC men's volleyball team. Silva had served as an assistant coach for the past eight season for Randy Totorp.

During his eight years with the Vikings, LBCC has captured three state championships (2004, 2006, 2009), seven conference titles, and has advanced to the state championship tournament seven times.

Silva joined the LBCC coaching staff midway through the 2004 season and has played a vital role in the success of the program. Silva was a member of the Vikings’ men’s volleyball squad during the 1998-99 seasons.

Silva and Totorp’s ties go back to St. John Bosco, where Silva was the head boy’s junior varsity coach and was an assistant coach for the varsity team. He has also coached the Highline Club Volleyball 15’s squad.

Silva is a 1997 graduate of St. John Bosco.
