Long Beach City College captured its seventh consecutive South Coast Conference championship and 11th over the past 12 seasons after its 14-10 win over Cerritos College on Friday in the SCC championship final. With the conference title, the Vikings were awarded the No. 2 seed for this week's Southern California Regional Championships at Riverside Community College.

In the SCC final against Cerritos, the Vikings took a 5-3 first-quarter lead and never looked back. Eight different Vikings scored goals in the win, with Nemanja Jokanovic (pictured) and Tristan Winterhalter leading LBCC with three goals each. Michael Carrillo and Chase McColl both scored two goals and Vince Ward had 10 saves in goal for the Vikings.

Long Beach earned its spot in the championship final after its 18-5 win over Chaffey College in Friday's semifinal. 13 Vikings scored in the rout and Niklaus Urey posted 10 saves in goal.

Long Beach takes a 24-2 overall record into the SoCal Regionals. On Friday, the Vikings will play either No. 10 Ventura (12-12) or No. 7 Cerritos (19-13) at 12:45 pm. A win on Friday would put LBCC in Saturday's 9:45 am semifinal.

The SoCal Championship final is set for 2:45 pm on Saturday. The top two teams from the SoCal Regionals advance to the CCCAA Water Polo State Championship on November 18-19 at Cerritos College.
