The No. 4 state-ranked Long Beach City College men's water polo team closed out the Riverside City College tournament with two more wins on Saturday to improve to 9-2 overall this season.

Long Beach knocked off two ranked opponents in its final day of tournament action. In the morning, the Vikings rolled to a 10-8 win over No. 7 LA Valley College. Sophomore Mac Aahkus (pictured) led the Vikings with three goals in the win over the Monarchs.

And later in the day, Long Beach capped its impressive weekend with a 13-11 overtime victory against fifth-ranked rival Cerritos College. Sophomore Dor Apffel had five goals to lead the Vikings against the Falcons.

It was Long Beach's second overtime win over Cerritos this season after downing the Falcons 14-13 on Sept. 19 at home in a South Coast Conference game.

The Vikings have now won seven straight games and return to conference action Wednesday when they host LA Trade Tech College at 4:15 p.m.
