Men's Water Polo: LBCC caps undefeated weekend with win over Golden West
The Long Beach City College men's water polo team went 4-0 over the weekend to take first place at the highly competitive Cuesta College Invitational. Goalie Lazar Andric had 10 saves while Jason Lee scored three goals in the win over Golden West.
The Long Beach City College men's water polo team went 4-0 over the weekend to take first place at the highly competitive Cuesta College Invitational.
On Friday, the Vikings cruised to an 18-4 rout over American River College and closed the day with a 10-8 win over host Cuesta.
Then on Saturday, LBCC avenged their only loss of the season with a 12-7 victory over West Valley College in the semifinals and ended the tourney with a 6-3 win over two-time defending state champion Golden West College in the final.
In the big Golden West win, freshman Lazar Andric (Herceg-Novi, Montenegro) had 10 saves in goal to lead a great defensive effort while sophomore attacker Jason Lee (Cerritos HS) led the Vikings with three goals.
Long Beach, now 6-1 overall, returns to South Coast Conference play on October 2 when it travels to rival Cerritos College for a 4:15 p.m. game.
