The honors for Long Beach City College men's water polo freshman goalie Lazar Andric (Herceg-Novi, Montenegro) continue to pour in as he was named the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA)/California Community College Sports Information Association (CCCSIA) Male Athlete of the Month for November.

Andric was the driving force behind the Vikings' impressive run to the 2013 CCCAA Men's Water Polo State Championship.

Over seven postseason games during the month of November, Andric totaled 68 saves for the Vikings, including a season-high 18 saves in Long Beach's 11-9 overtime win against Golden West in the state championship final. Andric came up big when the Vikings needed it most as he stopped a pair of five-meter penalty shots in the final.

Following his impressive performance, Andric was named the State Tournament Most Valuable Player. Andric racked up the postseason honors as he also earned All-American honors and was named the Southern California and South Coast Conference Player of the Year.

Long Beach capped its state championship season with a 27-2 overall record and ended the year on a 20-game winning streak. The state title was the ninth in LBCC men's water polo history and first since 2006.

Andric is the eighth Viking to earn the state athlete of the month honor since the award's inception in September of 2005. Past LBCC athlete of the month honorees include Rob McLean (men's volleyball, Apr. 2012), Rayven Sellers (women's basketball, Dec. 2009), Manuel Batista (men's soccer, Sep. 2008), Randy Serrato (baseball, Feb. 2008), Eric Williams (men's basketball, Jan. 2007), Ashling Taylor (women's water polo, Nov. 2006), and Pearson Smith (men's basketball, Feb. 2006).
