The defending state champion Long Beach City College men's water polo team is unbeaten in South Coast Conference play at 3-0 and improved its overall record to 11-2 after its 15-10 win over visiting El Camino College on Wednesday. Long Beach has now won six straight games.

Despite the close final score, the outcome was never in doubt. The Vikings led 9-0 after the first quarter and were up 14-3 at halftime before turning the game over to its reserves.

Freshman Frankie Cervantes (Granite Bay HS) scored four times in the first quarter to lead the Vikings.

The Viking men, ranked No. 2 in the state, return to action on Friday (Oct. 17) at the Riverside tournament.
