Men's Water Polo: Vikings go 4-0, beat Diablo Valley in finals of Riverside tournament

The Vikings won all four games in the eight-team tourney, outscoring their opponents 56-25 to improve to 11-2 on the season.
LBCC's defense, led by goalie Matej Matijevic (Zagreb, Croatia), stifled Ventura College 17-6 and Citrus College 12-7 on Friday. Long Beach then shut down a strong Orange Coast College team 16-7 on Saturday morning before avenging an early season loss to the talented DVC club in the championship game.
Head coach Chris Oeding's squad got solid play throughout the tournament from sophomores Nathan Pinkney (Granite Bay HS) and Blake Grove (Newport Harbor HS), and four freshmen -- James Applegate (Wilson HS), Max Taylor (Las Vegas, NV), Conor Shuey (Albuquerque, NM), and Frankie Cervantes (Granite Bay HS).
