Men’s Water Polo: Long Beach remains perfect in conference after 18-5 win over Chaffey

Long Beach City College freshman Giorgio La Rosa (Catania, Italy) had a game-high five goals in the Vikings' 18-5 rout over visiting Chaffey College on Wednesday at LBCC. With the South Coast Conference win, the Vikings remain unbeaten in SCC play at 4-0 and improved to 10-2 overall.

Long Beach jumped out to a 7-1 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. The Vikings were up 12-2 at halftime before turning the game over to its reserves.

Sophomore Max Taylor (Las Vegas, NV) contributed three goals and three assists towards the LBCC win. Sophomores Frankie Cervantes (Granite Bay, CA) and Conor Shuey (Albuquerque, NM) as well as freshmen Jack Larson (Esperanza HS) and Aaron Mowl (St. John Bosco HS) all scored twice.

In goal, sophomore Noah Borin (Vista Murrieta HS) posted 10 saves for the Vikings.

Long Beach returns to action on Friday (Oct. 16) when the Vikings will compete at the Riverside City College Mini Tournament. Long Beach is scheduled to face host RCC at 9:15 a.m. followed by a 12:55 p.m. game against Grossmont College.
