Men’s Water Polo: Vikings win sixth straight, roll past LA Trade-Tech 25-5

The Long Beach City College men's water polo team extended its winning streak to six games as the Vikings cruised to a 25-5 South Coast Conference win at Los Angeles Trade-Tech College on Wednesday.

The Vikings jumped out to an early lead and were never challenged as LBCC held a 14-4 advantage at halftime.

10 different Vikings scored in the rout. Sophomore Conor Shuey (Albuquerque, NM) as well as freshmen Giorgio La Rosa (Catania, Italy), Marton Gorbics (Budapest, Hungary), Teo Dadic (Dubrovnic, Croatia), and Aaron Mowl (St. John Bosco HS) all scored three goals each.

Sophomore goalie Noah Borin (Vista Murrieta HS) had five saves before freshman Nick Wood (Newport Harbor, CA) came off the bench to post two saves.

LBCC remains unbeaten in SCC play at 5-0 and is 14-2 overall heading into this weekend's (Oct. 23-24) Golden West College tournament. On Friday, the Vikings will face American River College at 8:10 a.m. followed by a 3:10 p.m. contest against Riverside City College. Play resumes on Saturday, with games starting at 7 a.m.
