Long Beach City College men's water polo interim head coach Dave Kasa has announced that Max Taylor has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his academic and athletic career next fall at the University of Redlands.

"Max Taylor is a great leader with a love for the sport," said Kasa. "His hard work, commitment, and determination will ensure his success as he continues his education at the University of Redlands."

Taylor, originally out of Coronado High School in Las Vegas, played a key role on LBCC's 2015 state championship squad scoring 34 goals to rank third on the Vikings. Long Beach compiled a 24-5 overall record and captured a conference title with an 8-0 mark.

Taylor racked up the postseason honors to close out his sophomore season as he was named All-American, first-team All-Southern California, and first-team All-South Coast Conference. He was also a first-team All-SCC selection as freshman in 2014.

Redlands competes at the NCAA Division III and is a member of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Bulldogs are led by long-time head coach Tom Whittemore.

Taylor joins sophomore Connor Shuey as Vikings to sign with four-year universities with more expected in the near future.
