The Long Beach City College men's water polo squad hit its home pond on Wednesday to play host to the Mt. San Antonio College Mounties in the final conference matchup this season. With an undefeated conference recorded on the line, the Vikings rose to the occasion and overcame a slow first half en route to a commanding 18-11 victory.

With the victory, the Vikings have had two-consecutive season in which they have remained undefeated in conference action.

The opening half was sluggish for the Vikings, as they took a one score deficit into halftime. However, Long Beach woke up instantly in the third quarter with a goal from Teo Dadic to tie the contest up. Jack Larson chipped in his second score of the game shortly after, followed by back-to-back netters from Dadic and Gavin Kunkle, respectfully, to gain a two score lead. Myles Martinez zipped home a goal to cap off a third quarter that put the Vikings up 11-9.

Long Beach truly took control in the fourth quarter by outscoring the Mounties 7-2. Dadic kicked off a six-goal run with a netter 18 seconds into the final period. Mario Moran fired home two scores in the streak en route to the victory.

Nick Wood patrolled the pipes for the victory after hauling in 11 saves through four quarters of action.

The Vikings (18-4, 6-0 SCC) will hold the top seed in the South Coast Conference Championships starting Thursday, November 3 at Pasadena City College.
