Teo Dadic's Co-MVP Highlights LBCC Men's Water Polo All-SCC Awards

It was recently announced by the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) and the South Coast Conference (SCC) that seven Long Beach City College men's water polo players were selected to the All-SCC list following a solid season. Sophomore attacker Teo Dadic (Dubrovnic, Croatia) highlights the Viking's awards by being named SCC Co-Most Valuable Player. Sophomore goalkeeper Nick Wood (Costa Mesa, CA), freshman attacker Myles Martinez (La Jolla, CA), and freshman center Gavin Kunkle (Newport Beach, CA) were named to the First-Team All-Conference list, while freshman defender Chaz Harker (Bakersfield, CA) and sophomore defender Jack Larson (Yorba Linda, CA) were honored on the Second-Team All-Conference list. Furthermore, freshman attacker Mario Moran earned Honorable Mention laurels.

Dadic was a monster in the pool in his final season for the Vikings by leading his squad with 60 goals leading to an even .500 shooting percentage. He had a season-high seven goals in an 18-11 win over Mt. San Antonio that included one assist as well. Dadic scored in 21 contests while playing in 26 games to prove his value. Furthermore, he dished out 33 assists on the season to prove his versatility.

Wood earns First-Team laurels in his final season between the pipes for the Vikings. He amassed a solid 219 total saves on the year and ranks third in the CCCAA in wins with 20 overall. He has also recorded four steals and two assists.

Martinez earns First-Team recognition after proving to be a viable option on the offensive end as well as the defensive end. In 26 games played, he has hummed home 40 netters and dished out 22 assists. Martinez has scored three or more goals in nine games with three game featuring four scores. In addition, he has pocketed 31 steals that ties for first on his squad.

Kunkle hauls in First-Team laurels after emerging as a powerful offensive threat in the SCC. He ranked second on the team in goals by firing home a total of 49 while dishing out seven assists. While manning the middle of the offense, he score three or more goals in seven game with a season-high six goals coming in a 23-3 rout over El Camino.

Harker reels in a Second-Team honor following a solid first year. While participating in 26 games, Harker has recorded 39 goals and 34 assists showing a well-shaped offensive arsenal. Furthermore, he has scooped up 25 steals as well.

Larson caps off his Viking career with a Second-Team nod after chipping in solid contributions to the 2016 season. In 24 games played, he fired home 21 goals and dished out 14 assists. Larson zipped home a season-high four goals against LA Trade Tech in a 25-3 victory. Furthermore, he recorded 19 steals on the year.

Moran ends his first year in the Red and Black with an honorable mention after playing in 25 games and scoring 14 goals and dishing out 28 assists. His defense was potent leading to 19 steals as well.
