The Vikings fell to the Mt. San Antonio College Mounties on Day 1 of the South Coast Conference Tournament 14-12. With the loss, the Vikings will now play for third place against El Camino on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 11:15 a.m.
The Vikings were first on the board with a goal from attacker JJ Alvo. Then after a few back-and-forth goals, the Vikings came out of the first quarter leading 4-3.
The Mounties tied up the Vikings 6-6 in the second quarter and again in the third quarter 11-11.
Everything came down in the fourth quarter, but defender Sandro Pueyo was the only Viking to execute, and the Mounties finished the game with a 14-12 victory.
Attacker Colley Ochoa led the Vikings with five goals, while goalkeeper Blake Borders nabbed nine saves in the cage.
