Men’s Cross Country: Vikings advance to SoCals after sixth-place SCC finish

The Long Beach City College men's cross country team totaled 165 points to finish in sixth place out of eight teams at the 2011 South Coast Conference Championships on Saturday at Cerritos Regional Park.

Following the event, LBCC was notified that it received an at-large bid into next Saturday's Southern California Regional Championships.

Freshman Michael Delgado (pictured) once again led Long Beach at the SCC Finals. He cleared the flat four-mile course with a time of 23:11. He was followed by freshman Angel LaCosta in 28th place at 23:32.

LA Trade Tech College scored 37 points to win the SCC team title while Cerritos College's Daniel Herrera was the individual champion with a time of 21:50.
