Under cold and rainy conditions in Fresno, Long Beach City College sophomore Michael Delgado (pictured, center) ran 21:23.85 to finish in 51st place overall at the 2012 California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Cross Country Championships on Saturday.

"Michael did very well at the state meet placing 51st overall," said first-year head coach John Goldman. "He ran 17 seconds faster than last year and moved up 36 spots."

As a freshman last season at the same Woodward Park course, Delgado finished in 87th place with a time of 21:40.40.

Delgado was LBCC's top finisher in all eight meets this season.
