The Long Beach City College men's cross country team finished 5^th Overall at the Mt. Sac Cross Country Invitational in Walnut Friday.

Leonardo Acevedo led the men with a 29^th overall 4-mile finish with a season best time 23:10. Gerardo Rubio (23:40), Jonathan Ruiz (23:53), Abraham Romero Tobar (24:36) and Jaydon Moreno round out the top five for the Vikings 5^th place finish between teams including conference foes Mt. Sac (2^nd Place), El Camino (6^th), Pasadena (9^th) and East LA (11^th).

Other individual finishers for the Vikings include Nathan Garcia (26:27), Fabian Barales-Nunez (26:28), Ian Gomez (28:34), Aaron Garcia (28:41), Adam Mazariegos (29:59), Jose Gutierrez (30:37) and Fransisco Mares (32:48). Hartnell College won the event with 29 points. Elijah Ocegueda of Mt. Sac was the top finisher with a time of 21:22.

LBCC will compete next at the South Coast Conference Championships on October 29^th at Charles H Wilson Park in Torrance.​
