Long Beach City College pounded out 21 hits, including 14 for extra bases in a 20-0 five-inning rout of visiting El Camino College Compton Center on Tuesday at LBCC. The South Coast Conference victory improved the Vikings to 19-16 overall and 9-7 in the SCC.

After being held scoreless in the first, the Vikings put up four runs in the second before blowing up the scoreboard with nine runs in the third. LBCC closed out the contest with a seven-run, fourth-inning.

Sophomores Mariah Jacobo (La Serna HS) and Vanessa Valdez (Lakewood HS) both smashed home runs while sophomore Andrea Barba (Cypress HS) hit three doubles as part of a perfect 4 for 4 day at the plate to lead the Vikings' charge. Jacobo tied a season-high with 4 RBI while freshman Yulissa Dominguez (Santa Fe HS) went 3 for 3, scored three runs, and stole three bases.

Not to be overlooked, freshman Anissa Hamilton (Downey HS) tossed a one-hit shutout in the circle for the Vikings while striking out eight over five innings.

Tyler Moran had the lone hit for winless Compton (0-24, 0-17 SCC), a two-out single in the top of the first inning.

Long Beach returns to action on Thursday (Apr. 14) when the Vikings travel to El Camino College for a 3 p.m. SCC game.
