Long Beach City College totaled just three hits and lost 6-0 at Cerritos College in a South Coast Conference game on Saturday. LBCC is 21-18 overall and 11-9 in SCC play heading into Tuesday's 5 p.m. regular-season finale at East Los Angeles College.

Cerritos (27-12, 15-5 SCC) jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead after getting a three-run home run by Jenny Navarro and scoring another run by wild pitch.

The Vikings couldn't get anything going offensively against Cerritos pitcher Jissel Caballero. She struck out just two and walked none in the complete-game victory for the Falcons.

Sophomore Vanessa Valdez (Lakewood HS) had two of LBCC's three hits on the day. With one out in the fifth, Valdez and sophomore Andrea Barba (Cypress HS) hit consecutive singles but were both stranded on base. Valdez line a one-out double in the seventh but also couldn't advance.

Sophomore Brooke Loard (Millikan HS) tossed five innings and allowed six runs and seven hits to earn the loss. Loard struck out five and walked three. Freshman Anissa Hamilton (Downey HS) struck out two batters in a perfect sixth inning in relief.

Regardless of Tuesday's outcome, LBCC has secured a fourth-place finish in the SCC standings.
