Softball: Hamilton, Torrez, and Velasquez Sign with Marymount California

Softball's Annisa Hamilton, Sierra Torrez and Daisy Velasquez all signed National Letters of Intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at Marymount California University.

During her two year career at Long Beach City College, pitcher Annisa Hamilton made 41 appearances with 26 starts and totaled 102 strikeouts. Last season, Hamilton pitched 63 innings with an ERA of 3.44 and was named to the Second-Team All-Conference list. In her final home game at LBCC, Hamilton earned the win on the mound with a no-hitter against LA Harbor College.

Sierra Torrez put her stamp on the 2017 season in the away game against East Los Angeles where she earned three RBIs on a double. On the season, Torrez had 38 at-bats in 31 games and eight runs on eight hits. She was near perfect in the field with a .923 percentage.

During her time at Long Beach, second baseman Daisy Velasquez totaled 51 RBIs, 101 hits and had a batting average of .407. Velasquez was one of the five athletes this season to earn SCC-South All-Conference accolades at the end of regular season. This year, she recorded 14 multi-hit games and held a 13-game hitting streak.

Hamilton, Torrez and Velasquez are set to compete at Marymount California University this upcoming Spring season. The Marymount California Mariners are led by head coach Ashley Esparza.
