During the summer, the Vikings will be highlighting some of the Top Team Performances of the 2019-20 year. Due to concerns over COVID-19, competition for all spring sports were canceled halfway through their season.

The softball team's top performance was when they defeated El Camino 8-1 in their first game of the season to start conference play on top with a 1-0 record.

The Vikings were first on the board with freshman catcher Ayanna Gamble scoring on a Warrior error followed by sophomore outfielder Yazmin Zendejas scoring on a passed ball.

Then in the top of the third, the Vikings continued their offensive momentum with sophomore shortstop Jade Wittman singling up the middle to score in Gamble extend their lead 3-0.

The Warriors scored an RBI single in the bottom of the fourth, to start closing in on the Vikings 3-1, but Long Beach ran in three more runs from freshman pinch runner Amanda Quezada, Gamble and Wittman in the top of the fifth to extend their lead 6-1.

In the top of the seventh, the Vikings sealed the 8-1 win with Zendejas capitalizing on a passed ball and a fourth run from Gamble to finish the game.
