Vikings Dominate Chaffey College with 13-0 Shutout Victory

In a dominating display, the No. 4/7 Vikings softball team notched their fourth shutout of the season, cruising to a commanding 13-0 victory over Chaffey College in just five innings. With this win, the Vikings maintain their flawless record at 6-0 for the season.

Pitcher Mariah Zapata (2-0) controlled the game from the mound, limiting the opposition to only 4 hits while striking out 5 Panthers.

The Vikings wasted no time asserting their dominance, as Alejandra Mota smashed a 2 RBI single in the first inning, bringing in Anaya Togia and Jordyn Villanueva. They continued their offensive onslaught, adding six more runs in the second inning, followed by five more in both the third and fourth innings, ultimately sealing the shutout victory.

Villanueva showcased her prowess by going a perfect 4 for 4 at-bat, contributing two runs and two RBIs. Togia also made her mark, going 2 for 3 at-bat with one run and 3 RBIs.

Next up, the Vikings will face off against No. 3/5 Cypress on Friday, Feb. 9, at 2 p.m., eager to extend their winning streak.
