No. 7 Softball Secures 5th Consecutive Conference Victory with 3-0 Shutout

In a thrilling softball showdown, the No. 7 Long Beach City College Vikings clinched their fifth straight conference victory, blanking Cerritos College 3-0 on Friday afternoon.

Pitcher Bayleigh Fry dominated the mound, limiting the Falcons to a mere three hits and zero runs while striking out an impressive 11 batters.

"This win is a testament to our mindset and passion on the field," Fry remarked. "I stayed focused on our opponents and made necessary adjustments, fueled by the determination pulsing through my teammates."

The tide turned in the bottom of the fifth inning when Robin Garcia and Natalie Wilson reached base. Anaya Togia stepped up with a booming double to center field, bringing in 2 RBIs. Jordyn Villanueva followed suit with a clutch RBI single, driving in Togia and sealing the Vikings' 3-0 triumph to close out the game.

The Vikings will return to action on Tuesday, March 12 against East Los Angeles College at 3 p.m.
