Vikings Softball Complex Named 2024 Netting Professionals/NFCA Field of the Year

The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) has announced the 2024 Netting Professionals/NFCA Fields of the Year, recognizing eight elite softball programs' exceptional playing surfaces and top-notch field maintenance. This year's honorees include Hillenbrand Stadium (NCAA DI – University of Arizona), Cougar Field (NCAA DII – Columbus State University), Jim McLeod Field (NCAA DIII – Belhaven University), Busse Field at Plaster Athletic Complex (NAIA – Mount Mercy University), Stuart Field (NJCAA – Weatherford College), Vikings Softball Complex (Cal JC – Long Beach City College), Clark College Softball Complex (NWAC – Clark College), and Pioneer Field (Lehi High School).

This prestigious award, sponsored by NFCA Official Partner Netting Professionals, highlights outstanding facilities across all levels, including NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, NAIA, NJCAA, Cal JC, NWAC, and High School, based on their excellence in field quality and maintenance.

"Our Vikings Softball Complex offers a cutting-edge facility for our student-athletes and the community," said Megan Martinez, Director of Softball Operations and Head Coach. "Key features include an outdoor weight room, dedicated locker room, team meeting room with a touchscreen training monitor, and live streaming capabilities from four camera angles. With a digital scoreboard and surround sound system, the fan experience is truly one-of-a-kind."

Opened in January 2022, the Vikings Softball Complex is a state-of-the-art turf facility boasting a MultiMedia LED video scoreboard, a press box, two home plate bleachers, two pitching cages, a home locker room, and four batting cages. It is designed to provide top-tier training and competitive experiences.

Coach Martinez will be honored at the NFCA Awards Brunch on Saturday, December 7th, during the 2024 NFCA Convention in Dallas, TX, as part of the celebration recognizing the Vikings Softball Complex's achievement.
