Pelle Leads Track & Field in the 100 Meter Hurdles at Concordia

The Long Beach City College Track & Field squad traveled to Irvine to compete in the Concordia Invite on Saturday, Mar. 31. The Viking earned some solid marks and brought in two first place finishes along with three second place honors.

Sophomore Sherrice Pelle took first place in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.15. She also received first place again with her 4x100 meter relay team with freshmen Destinee Augustus, Sauriyanna Harrison and sophomore Aaliyah Abdulrahmaan with a 51.17 time.

Harrison also placed second in the 400 meter, while sophomore Erin Wilber took fourth in the high jump with 1.50 meters.

Freshman Tylor Wallace brought home 7th honors in the 800 meter run and placed second in the 1500 meter run with a 4:03.04. Freshmen long distance runners Rafael Gonzalez (16.24.16) and Moises Marquez (16.24.35) were neck in neck and placed second and third in the 5000 meter run.  

Freshman Jeremiah Ruger earned a spot in second place for the 400 meter hurdles with a final time of 56.31.

The track & field team will compete again on Friday, April 6 at the Arnie Robinson Twilight at San Diego Mesa.
