The Long Beach City College men and women's team competed in the California Community College Athletic Association State Championship over the weekend. The women's team took 8^th place overall, while the men's team finished in the 26^th in the standings.

Here are a few of the individual highlights during the state championships:

-Freshman Casey Davis took first place to become State Champion and All-American in the women's shot put with a personal best throw of 12.76m (41'11").

-Freshman Radiance Lindsey earned third place in the 400m hurdles (1:06.10) and fourth in the 100m hurdles (14.66 *personal best) to become a two-event individual All-American honoree.

-Women's 4x400m relay (Taj Grant, Destinee Reid, Radiance Lindsey, Natalie Mejia) place third with a time of 4:01.12 to earn team All-American honors.

-Freshman LaSalle Jackson placed third in the men's triple jump with a personal best leap of 14.97m (49'2") to round up the Vikings' eighth All-American Award of the day.

The track and field team will return next season.
