LBCC Track & Field Shines at Mt. SAC Relays
The LBCC track and field teams turned in a strong showing at the Mt. SAC Relays.
The Long Beach City College track and field teams turned in a strong showing at the Mt. SAC Relays on Saturday, April 12, with several top finishes across multiple events.
On the men's side, Marques Guzman sprinted to a fourth-place finish in the 100m with a time of 10.71 seconds, and later claimed second in the 200m at 21.32 seconds. Gavin Wang impressed in the field, placing second in the javelin with a mark of 54.51 meters.
For the women, Nevaeh Lane had a standout day, placing second in both the 100m (12.22) and 200m (24.87). Danika Hunter took third in the 800m with a time of 2:28.92, while Melanie Moreno earned third place in the 3000m steeplechase in 14:13.31. In the jumps, Sa'Mir Braccey finished fourth in the triple jump at 10.16 meters. Lauren Ferguson claimed first place in the javelin with a throw of 33.47 meters.
Up next, the Vikings will compete in the South Coast Conference Prelims at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Tuesday, April 22 at 1 p.m.
