Knaub comes to Long Beach City College after being a pole vault competitor at Long Beach State and a semifinalist in the 1976 Olympics. He then went on to set a wheel chair marathon world record in the 1982 Boston Marathon. He now totals four world records in wheel chair marathons. He's in the Long Beach State Hall of Fame and the Lakewood Youth Hall of Fame.
