No. 10 seeded Cypress College defeated No. 7 Long Beach City College by a final score of 65-52 in Round 2 of the 2012 CCCAA Southern California Regional Playoffs on Friday. Freshman Kaaron King (pictured) led LBCC with 21 points and eight rebounds.

Long Beach City College has been named the No. 7 seed for the upcoming CCCAA Women’s Basketball Southern California Regional Playoffs and will host No. 10 seed Cypress College on Friday (Feb 24) at 7 pm.

No. 18 state-ranked Long Beach City College closed out its home schedule with an easy 74-46 South Coast Conference win over visiting Los Angeles Trade-Tech College on Friday night. Luna Amico (pictured) had 13 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.

Sophomore guard Keshonda Moore (pictured) scored a game-high 19 points to help lead the No. 18 state-ranked Long Beach City College to a 77-48 South Coast Conference win over visiting Los Angeles Southwest College on Wednesday night at the LBCC Hall of Champions Gym.

The No. 15 state-ranked LBCC women's basketball team won its sixth consecutive game after defeating visiting El Camino College Compton Center 82-34 in a South Coast Conference contest on Friday. Freshman Symphony Logan (pictured) led LBCC with 18 points.

Freshman forward Charmaine Nelson (pictured) posted 18 points and 13 rebounds, while freshman Luna Amico also poured in 18 points to help lead No. 12 state-ranked Long Beach City College to a convincing 74-42 South Coast Conference win over visiting Pasadena City College on Friday night.

No. 14 state-ranked Long Beach City College rallied late to knock off visiting El Camino College by a final score of 48-44. With the SCC win, Long Beach improved 13-4 overall and 5-3 in conference play. Kaaron King (pictured) led the Vikings with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

For the first time since Jan. 15, 1997, the Long Beach City College women's basketball team defeated Pasadena City College, winning the South Coast Conference opener for both teams, 54-51, at PCC's Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium Wednesday night.
