Women's Basketball Dominate Pasadena with 71-45 Victory
The Long Beach City College women’s basketball team delivered a commanding 71-45 victory over Pasadena City College.
The Long Beach City College women's basketball team delivered a commanding 71-45 victory over Pasadena City College on Friday night, improving their overall record to 12-6.
Despite a slow start, the Vikings found their rhythm and took control of the game. "We were down, but we picked it up and made some buckets," said Zariha Smith, who contributed six points, four rebounds, and two steals.
Brillana Boyd led the charge with a dominant double-double, posting 27 points and 14 rebounds. Kimberly Cruz-Martinez also recorded a double-double, finishing with 14 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, and four steals. Kyla Sawall made a strong impact as well, adding nine points and seven rebounds.
"We found a way to win even when we struggled early, and I'm happy with the result," said assistant coach Greg Sii.
The Vikings will return to the court on Monday, Jan. 20, when they face LA Trade Tech College at 5 p.m.
