Brillana Boyd has officially signed her National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic career.
Long Beach City College women's basketball standout Brillana Boyd has officially signed her National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic career at St. Bonaventure University, an NCAA Division I institution competing in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
Boyd makes the leap to Division I after a decorated two-year career with the Vikings. She was named South Coast Conference Player of the Year in back-to-back seasons and eclipsed 1,000 career points and 400 rebounds during her time with the Vikings.
"I'm incredibly proud of Brillana and all she has accomplished at Long Beach City," said Head Coach Dominic Freeman. "She's worked tirelessly both on the court and in the classroom, truly embodying what it means to be a student-athlete. Her leadership, work ethic, and competitive spirit have set a standard for those around her. St. Bonaventure is not just getting a talented player, but an exceptional young lady. I'm very proud of her—she will always be a Viking."
Under Head Coach Jim Crowley, the Bonnies will gain a versatile and explosive scorer. As a sophomore, Boyd averaged 21.9 points per game, shooting 47.6% from the field, while adding 8.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest. Her freshman campaign was equally impressive, as she posted 17.0 points, 7.1 rebounds, and connected on 34% from beyond the arc.
Boyd is the latest Viking to move on to the NCAA Division I level, continuing the program's tradition of developing high-level student-athletes on and off the court.
