Bio
Dominic Freeman is a highly accomplished women's basketball coach, physical education teacher, and former alumni of Long Beach City College, with over 15 years of dedicated experience. Renowned for his leadership, program management, and mentoring skills, Dominic has a proven track record of building successful, winning programs. His commitment to athlete development and education is evident through his impressive career milestones.
"I'm extremely humbled and blessed to be back to where it all started for me," said Freeman. "As a former student-athlete and assistant coach here at Long Beach City College, this is a homecoming. I would like to thank Long Beach City College for this great opportunity, as well as thank my family and everyone else who has supported me over the years. Long Beach has always been home and I can't wait to get started. I look forward to being a pillar in the community of Long Beach and hope to bring a championship to the city of Long Beach and LBCC."
Dominic currently serves as the Head Girl's Basketball Coach and Physical Education Educator at Capistrano Valley Christian Schools, where he has led his team to numerous victories, including winning the CIF Championship in 2022. He has been recognized with several prestigious coaching awards such as CIF Head Coach of the Year, Academy League Coach of the Year, and SCIBCA Coach of the Year in 2022.
Throughout his career, Dominic has held various significant roles, including Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at Biola University, Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at Long Beach City College, and Athletic Director at Mary Star of the Sea Schools. His leadership extends beyond coaching to include mentoring students, leading school chapels, and organizing educational programs. His programs boast high graduation rates and academic achievements, reflecting his holistic approach to student-athlete development.

With three consecutive conference championships and our historic run to the Elite Eight last season, Dominic's leadership and passion will undoubtedly elevate our program to new heights. I would like to thank Acting Head Coach Tay Adams, and the entire women's basketball coaching staff for their dedication, hard work, patience, and resiliency this past season," said Director of Athletics, Kal Stewart. "Adams provided steady leadership during a challenging transition period, which led our team to an undefeated conference title, and a 20-10 record for the year."
Dominic holds a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology from California State University, Long Beach, and a California State Single Subject Teaching Credential in Physical Education. His extensive club and EYBL experience further highlights his dedication to developing young talent. Dominic Freeman's career is marked by his passion for basketball, commitment to education, and ability to inspire and develop student-athletes both on and off the court.
