Women's Soccer: DeAnda, LBCC defense post eighth shutout in win at Harbor

Sophomore Paolo Alonso scored in the 46th minute and that was all the offense the Long Beach City College women's soccer team needed as the Vikings won on the road at Los Angeles Harbor College by a final score of 1-0 on Tuesday.

The South Coast Conference win improved the Vikings to 8-4-3 overall and 4-2-3 in conference play. Long Beach has now won four of its last five SCC games.

On the scoring play, sophomore goalkeeper Jeanette DeAnda (pictured) sent a long kick from deep in LBCC territory down field. The pass was redirected by sophomore Rocio Hernandez before Alonso burried her shot in the back of the net for the game's lone goal.

DeAnda and the LBCC defense posted their eighth shutout of the season.

The Vikings return to action on Friday (Oct. 26) when they travel to face Pasadena City College in a 4 p.m. conference game.
