The Long Beach City College women's soccer team played Pasadena City College to a 1-1 South Coast Conference tie on the road on Friday.

Freshman Rocio Hernandez scored in the 33rd minute off an assist from freshman Hanna Hermansson before the Lancers got the equalizer in the 41st minute after a goal by Nancy Nunez.

Despite being outshot 19-8, the LBCC defense held Pasadena (9-4-4, 5-2-3 SCC) scoreless in the second half. Sophomore Jeanette DeAnda posted eight saves in goal for the Vikings.

Long Beach (8-4-4, 4-2-4 SCC) has lost just one game over its past seven and has allowed just two goals over that span.

The Vikings return to action on Tuesday (Oct. 30) when they host Mt. San Antonio College in a 4 p.m. conference game.
