Women’s Soccer: Vikings cruise to 4-1 rout at Victor Valley
The LBCC women’s soccer team rolled to its third straight win as the Vikings traveled to Victor Valley College to defeat the host Rams by a final score of 4-1 on Wednesday. Sophomore Rocio Hernandez (pictured) was one of three Vikings to score a goal and have an assist in the win.

The Long Beach City College women's soccer team rolled to its third straight win as the Vikings traveled to Victor Valley College to defeat the host Rams by a final score of 4-1 on Wednesday.
The Vikings are now 4-1 overall with just one game left at Moorpark College on Friday (Sep 20) before they open South Coast Conference play on October 1 against East Los Angeles College.
Sophomores Rocio Hernandez (Warren HS, pictured) and Hanna Hermannson (Stockholm, Sweden) as well as freshman Yasmyn Andrade (Delray, FL) all scored a goal and had an assist in the win to lead the Vikings.
Hernandez got Long Beach on the board in the 35th minute with her goal off an assist from Andrade.
Then the Vikings poured it on with three second-half goals. Andrade broke free for a goal off the pass from Hermansson in the 50th minute, Hermannson converted a penalty kick in the 57th minute, and freshman Odaliz Peregrina (Gahr HS) closed out the scoring with her goal in the 85th minute off the assist from Hernandez.
Freshman Karen Nuno (Bellflower HS) posted five saves in goal for the Vikings.
LBCC has outscored its opponents by a 12-5 margin over five games so far this season.
