Women’s Soccer: Reyes hat trick leads LBCC to 4-1 win at LA Harbor

Freshman forward Brenda Reyes (Hawthorne HS, pictured) scored three goals and added an assist to help lead the Long Beach City College women's soccer team to a 4-1 South Coast Conference win at Los Angeles Harbor College on Friday.

The win extended LBCC's unbeaten streak to six games and improved the Vikings to 6-1-1 overall and 2-0 in the SCC.

Harbor (3-6, 0-2 SCC) took a 1-0 lead afte4r a goal by Diana Rodriguez in the 28th minute. From that point, it was all Long Beach.

Reyes, who has scored four goals over her past two games, tied the game with a goal shortly after and gave the Vikings a 2-1 halftime lead with her second score.

 Reyes gave the Vikings a 3-1 advantage with her final goal and Elizabeth Rae Pielaat (Lakewood HS) closed out the scoring with her goal late in the second half.

Pielaat added an assist while sophomore Rocio Hernandez (Warren HS), and freshmen Yasmyn Andrade (Delray, FL) and Danielle Diaz (Cabrillo HS) also had assists.

Freshman Karen Nuno (Bellflower HS) posted six saves in goal for the Vikings.

Long Beach returns to action on Tuesday (Oct 8) when the Vikings travel to Pasadena City College for a 4 p.m. conference game.
