Women's Soccer: Unbeaten streak reaches seven as LBCC wins at Pasadena

The Long Beach City College women's soccer team pushed its unbeaten streak to seven games thanks to a 2-1 South Coast Conference win at Pasadena City College on Tuesday.

The Vikings have now won six of their last seven games, including three straight to improve to 7-1-1 overall and 3-0-0 in conference play.

LBCC took a 1-0 lead on a give-and-go play where sophomore Rocio Hernandez (Warren HS) tapped in a short range shot off the pass of freshman Brenda Reyes (Hawthorne HS) in the 21st minute. In the 32nd minute, sophomore Liliana Montano (Lakewood HS) ripped a free kick from 28 yards out for a 2-0 Long Beach lead.

PCC scored in the 44th minute before a scoreless second half.

Freshman Karen Nuno (Bellflower HS) posted four saves for in goal for Long Beach.

LBCC returns to action when it hosts Mt. San Antonio College on Friday (Oct 11) at 4 p.m. in a SCC game.
