The Long Beach City College women's soccer team has received an at-large berths into the 2013 Southern California Regional Playoffs. The playoff seedings were announced on Tuesday at the Southern California coaches postseason meetings.

The Vikings received the No. 17 seed and travel to No. 16 Saddleback College for a play-in round game on Thursday (Nov 21) at 2:00 p.m. Because Saddleback's field does not meet CCCAA postseason size standards, the game will be played at Junipero Serra High School in San Juan Capistrano.

The LBCC women will be making their third straight postseason appearance and has qualified for the playoffs in 13 of the past 14 seasons. Long Beach has won a California Community College record six state championships overall (1997, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2005).

Long Beach brings a 12-6-2 overall record into the playoffs and finished third in the South Coast Conference at 8-4-2. Saddleback finished fourth in the Orange Empire Conference with an 8-3-5 mark and is 12-3-6 overall heading into Thursday's game.

The winner of the play-in game will face No. 1 seed Cerritos College on Saturday (Nov 23) at 1 p.m. in a Round 1 regional playoffs game. A win by the Vikings would set up a men's/women's playoff doubleheader against the rival Falcons.

Four wins by the LBCC women are needed to advance to the CCCAA Soccer State Championship on Dec. 6 & 8 in Sacramento.
