Long Beach City College women's soccer is proud to announce Hayley Gonzales signed a National Letter of Intent with the University of Idaho in July to continue her academic and athletic career. She is currently with the Vandals in training camp in preparation for their season opener on August 21 against Indiana State University.

Idaho competes at the NCAA Division I level and is a member of the Big Sky Conference. The university is located in Moscow, Idaho. Gonzales was one of three late signees this summer for Idaho head coach Derek Pittman.

"Hayley is a very versatile player that will add some needed depth to our midfield group," said Pittman in a press release on the signing. "We see her as a potential wide midfielder or even possibly an outside back, but her best attributes will be in the attack because she is a technical player that has good vision and passing ability. Her overall competitiveness, quickness and sharpness on the ball will be effective on the field, giving us a different element to our attack. We are excited to have Hayley joining us this summer and feel that she will fit in quickly with our locker room."

Gonzales played one season at LBCC and earned second-team All-South Coast Conference honors as a sophomore in 2014. From the midfield position, she scored five goals and added two assists.

"Hayley is an excellent player with a tremendous work ethic and work rate," said LBCC head coach Sean Reeves. "With her abilities, she has the capability to excel as a player and will succeed at the next level. With her strong desire to lead her team and help push them to win, she will be an excellent addition to Idaho and that team is lucky to have someone of that caliber. I wish Hayley all the best and I know great things are to come."

Prior to Long Beach, Gonzales played her freshman season at Vanguard University in 2012 after prepping at Calvary Chapel High School.
