Sophomore midfielder Joanna Perone (San Pedro HS) scored three goals and added an assist while freshman Savannah Christensen (Lakewood HS) had a goal and three assists to help lead the Long Beach City College women's soccer team to a 7-0 South Coast Conference win over visiting El Camino College Compton Center on Friday at LBCC.

With the win, Long Beach improved to 4-3-1 overall and 1-1-0 in conference play.

Compton (1-7-1, 0-2-0 SCC) was clearly overmatched by the Vikings offense. LBCC outshot the Tartars by a 25-2 margin. Compton didn't record its first shot of the game until 83rd minute and got its first shot on goal in the 88th.

Perone put Long Beach on the board early with her goal in the sixth minute off the assist from Christensen and made it 2-0 with her second goal in the 14th minute off the assist from sophomore Breanna Velasquez (Santa Fe HS).

Sophomore Janessa Martinez (Narbonne HS) scored in the 31st (assist Christensen) and Christensen got a goal of her own in the 43rd minute to give LBCC a 4-0 halftime advantage.

Martinez made it 5-0 with her goal in the 51st with the assist from sophomore Niki Voulgaris (Wilson HS) before Voulgaris added to the lead with a goal off the corner kick from Perone.

Perone completed the hat trick with the final goal of the game after she put back Christensen's shot that was deflected by Compton goalkeeper Dayana Orozco in the 84th minute.

Sophomores Evelyn Fierros (Bishop Amat HS) and Isabella Reynoso (Lakewood HS) combined for their third shutout of the season in goal for the Vikings. Reynoso made the lone save for Long Beach.

LBCC returns to action on Tuesday (Oct. 6) when the Vikings host El Camino College in a 4 p.m. conference game.
